Healthy habits aren’t always about food. There are many small things you can do each day to get on the right track with a healthy lifestyle. By making a few simple changes these healthy habits will be second nature. Practice one or two each day until you have all five under your belt. If you are enthusiastic you can always try all 5 of them at the same time.
Wear Sunscreen – This healthy habit is so important! Skin cancer can be prevented just by remembering to get that sunscreen or protective clothing on your skin. I wear a color correcting foundation from Avon everyday. It has 50 SPF and I am putting in on my face before I leave the house. Protect skin that will be exposed for more than 10 minutes to the outdoors. Sunscreen should be worn daily all year round. The sun’s rays can affect you anytime of the year or anytime of the day.
Drink Water – There are plenty of myths and/or truths out there about intake of water. Whether it’s true or not, I try to drink as much water as possible each day. Staying hydrated helps me focus (and pee a lot) and keeps me full longer, so I eat less. It doesn’t always have to be water, either. Liquid is liquid. Just be sure you aren’t drinking your calories. Food is the best source of calories to fuel your body.
Get Enough Rest – Sleep is such an important piece of the healthy habits puzzle. I don’t know about you, but lack of sleep makes me cranky, which then makes me feel bad about my attitude and in turn I tend to overeat. The National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute recommends seven to eight hours of sleep daily for adults of all ages. Sleep is something I struggle with daily. I don’t have a problem sleeping, it’s the getting to sleep part that is hard. Staying up late and drinking too much caffeine are two habits I need to break. I am working on this habit day by day.
Take your Vitamins – Always check with your doctor before using supplements. Vitamins and minerals are essential to any diet, and research suggests they may help prevent cancer and heart disease, not to mention other health problems. If you aren’t getting enough of the essential vitamins and minerals your body needs through diet, a supplement may be right for you.
Remember the sleep issues, I mentioned I have. I had the opportunity to try a free sample of thevitafive (affiliate) gummies Sleep Pack vitamins. I am not a fan of swallowing pills (why are vitamin pills so darn big?) and these vitamins are easy to take and they don’t have a bad taste. Inside the Sleep Pack are 2 Melatonin and 2 Multivitamin. Many factors, such as changes in hormones or vitamin deficiencies, affect your body’s ability to achieve quality sleep. Melatonin directly regulates sleep and our Multivitamin supports body restoration as you sleep. If you are experiencing trouble falling asleep, staying asleep or suffer from fatigue during the day, the Sleep Pack is for you!
Each daily dose of the Sleep Pack comes individually packaged. They are also personalized. That way if more than one family member is using the vitafive system (affiliate) there is no confusion. A four week supply is delivered right to your door. The shipping is free and if you can get a 10% savings off your first order.
vitafive has plenty of vitamin packs to choose from. Take a look at what they have to offer here –> vitafive (affiliate).
Self Care – Taking time for yourself is an important part of developing those healthy habits. Whether it’s reading a book, taking a nap, binge watching NetFlix, getting a massage, yoga, a hot bath, spending time with friends or family, you NEED to do something for you. Taking the time to rejuvenate your mind and soul will help your body reap the rewards.
Whether you choose to start with all five or just one, developing healthy habits can bring you a lifetime of joy!
